Liskerrett Liskeard Lights Up
Masquerade Lantern Parade December 9th
Thank you to all who helped make Saturday such a success!
Team Liskerrett
We are mustering at 5pm in the old Cattle Market for the Masquarade Lantern Parade. The named individual from each group will need to check in with Nell Turner. Nell will collect a mobile number if we don't have one recorded already, check you have the risk assessment and all the details you need.
School representatives who have arranged to collect bamboo poles for their lanterns can pick these up from Nell.
** Please note the road closure will be from 5pm - 8pm**
The Masquerade Lantern Parade starts from the Cattle Market at 5.30pm and proceeds along Dean Street, up Barras Street, down Pike Street, along Fore Street, up Bay Tree Hill and back along Barras Street.
There is a space designated for wheelchair users and anyone with limited mobilty outside Webb's House. We acknowledge Pike Street isn't accessible for everyone and this enables all to take part in the flat stretch of the parade.
Around 6pm once the procession is stationary, the Mayor will introduce the people who are switching on the Christmas tree lights.
Around 6.10pm There will be a countdown from 10 to 1 in Cornish. At onen (one) the lights will be switched on and a 6 minute fireworks display will start.
Around 6.15pm St Pinnock Band will play ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ and we can all join in!
Around 6.20pm The procession will turn round and return to the Cattle Market. Any wheelchair users in the designated space will follow the procession on the road.
Around 6.30pm the projection mapping on the library will start, repeating at 7pm and 7.30pm. There will be music and dancing in the Market Canopy:
- Dancers from Louise School of Dance with a festive routine.
- Elves from Sterts 'Elf the Musical' will perform 'Just sing a Christmas Song!' from their forthcoming show.
- Sparkle & winter dancing fun from Dance Centred community dance classes & Shallal.
- Cat's Eye Morris will treat us to their inimitable brand of fast paced, whirling music and dance.
- Scoots Kernow will lead us in Cornish dance to Christmas tunes played by St Pinnock Brass Band.
