AMAZING FACT: Liskeard's famous astronomer - Reverend Richard Hayden (1706-1788) made important observations of the transit of Venus and determined the longitudes of places in the west of England.
AMAZING THOUGHT: Until recently, for all human history, our ancestors experienced a sky brimming with stars - a night sky that inspired science, religion, philosophy, art and literature. The natural night sky is our common and universal heritage, yet is rapidly becoming unknown to the newest generations.
