Liskerrett Community Cinema

The Liskerrett Community Cinema has been running since September 2007.

We like to involve our audiences in choosing the films that we screen and our latest selection includes some excellent films. Please feel free to make suggestions anytime for films you would like to see.

Films are shown on the first Friday of the month at 2.30pm and 7.30pm unless otherwise advertised. The matinee screenings are sub-titled.

We provide refreshments at each screening and produce film notes for subscribers to our email list.

It helps if people reserve a place, which we're trialling online. Please follow the links under each film below.

Tickets £5 payable on the door using a card or cash.

I Swear

Friday 2nd October

Scottish setting, true life story of John Davison. Diagnosed with Tourette’s at 15, targeted as ‘insane’ by his peers, he struggled with a condition few had witnessed. Campaigned for better understanding and acceptance of the condition of Tourette’s as an adult, he finds his life’s purpose and accepted his MBE from the late Queen in 2019. Please note this film contains strong language

Friday 6th November

A mainstay of the London art scene since his starry breakout in the creative explosion of the 1960's, Julian Sklar has drifted into a cluttered, self-imposed seclusion. His two estranged children enlist Lori, a young painter, to pose as a prospective assistant and gain access to and complete some unfinished canvases so they will have an inheritance when he dies.

Friday 4th December

2.30pm & 7.30pm

A biographical musical drama that follows the journey of two down-on-their-luck musicians, Mike Sardina and Claire Stengl, who form a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning and Thunder. The film explores their unlikely partnership, their rise to fame, and the personal challenges they face, including Claire’s accident and Mike’s heart condition. Based on a true story.
