Help shape the vision for the future of Liskeard's cattle market

In December 2017 the final livestock sale was held at Liskeard Cattle Market. This has created an opportunity to regenerate this key area in the heart of Liskeard, to deliver an exciting mixed-use development which enhances local facilities and boosts the local economy and brings more local people and visitors into the town.

Previous consultations have shown strong community support for redeveloping the site and Cornwall Council is committed to working closely with the local community to co-design the site’s future.To this end, specialist architects and urban designers JTP have been appointed to facilitate a Charrette.

What is a Charrette?

It is an open, multi-day, interactive planning and design event. It is an opportunity to share local knowledge and create a new vision through facilitated workshops, walkabouts and hands-on planning groups.

Participation is on a drop-in basis—there is no need to pre-register - you can stay for a short while, a few hours or the whole event if you are able to.

After the public workshop days, the JTP led team will analyse and summarise the outcomes and draw up a vision for the cattle market site, including an illustrative master plan. This will be presented back to the local community on Tuesday 12th March.

There will also be the opportunity to feed your views into the event even if unable to attend any of the sessions.
