Liskeard Lights Up 2015
Saturday 28th November 2015, 5:30pm
Location: Liskeard
Liskeard Lights Up 2015 will be Tripping The Light Fantastic through the streets of Liskeard with a dance theme on Saturday 28th November.
Liskeard Lights Up is the event that marks the start of the Christmas season in Liskeard with a community lantern procession, the turning on of the Christmas lights, and a short firework display.
During October and November, our team of artists have been working with local schools and community groups to make 'dance' themed lanterns large and small.
Our final FREE open workshop will be at the Liskerrett Centre this Friday morning from 9.30 - 12.30, led by community artist Carol Whibley. There is still lots of things to finish, so if you can spare some time on Friday this will really help. No experience necessary, all materials are provided. Just wear old clothes and bring an apron.
On Lights Up Day, lanterns should gather at the Spar end of the Cattle Market Car Park from 4.45pm. The Parade will set off at 5.30pm.
The route is leaving the Cattle Market Car Park via Market Approach, then across the roundabout and up The Parade, then Pike Street, Fore Street, Bay Tree Hill, Windsor Place, then back up to The Parade where it stops outside the Cornish Times Offices. Here there will singing/dancing and the switching on of the Christmas Tree Lights and a celebratory firework display, this year sponsored by Howden's Joinery Co of Moorswater.
The procession then reforms to return to the Cattle Market following the original route down Pike Street, Fore Street, then across the roundabout .
